About the Program

Niyo Explorer is the foundation stage of the Niyo journey. It gives students the space to understand themselves, become more curious about the world, communicate with greater confidence and begin turning ideas into things they can actually show.

Why Niyo Explorer

Learning that becomes visible capability.

The program is structured around progressive missions, real evidence of growth and age-appropriate application — not disconnected workshops.

01

Confidence that can be seen

Students practise speaking, storytelling, social interaction and presentation rather than learning confidence only as a concept.

02

Curiosity becomes a skill

Students learn to observe, ask stronger questions, investigate information and become active learners.

03

Healthy digital awareness

AI, privacy, verification, plagiarism and responsible technology use are introduced in an age-appropriate way.

04

Everyday independence

Students practise planning, responsibility, punctuality, asking for help and making simple decisions.

05

Create, not just consume

The journey leads students from ideas and brainstorming to a first model, experiment, research output or creative project.

06

Visible growth portfolio

Weekly evidence creates a portfolio parents and students can use to see progress over time.

Weeks 1–12

A progressive learning journey — week by week.

Every week introduces new learning and ends with a practical mission. Each mission creates evidence for the student’s Niyo Portfolio and prepares them for what comes next.

Week 1
Self-awareness

Discovering Me

Interests, strengths, growth mindset and personal goals.

Weekly Mission: Create a “This Is Me” Explorer Board with interests, strengths, things to learn, one challenge to overcome and one Niyo goal.

Week 2
Curiosity

The Power of Asking Why

Observation, curiosity and powerful why, how and what-if questions.

Weekly Mission: Create a Curiosity Journal with 20 questions and select the five most interesting.

Week 3
Communication

Speaking With Confidence

Voice, eye contact, posture, pace and a confident self-introduction.

Weekly Mission: Record a 60-second “This is who I am” video.

Week 4
Storytelling

Become a Great Storyteller

Beginning, challenge, discovery and ending — and how to make people want to listen.

Weekly Mission: Tell and record a two-minute story from real life using a story outline.

Week 5
Social confidence

People Skills

Listening, follow-up questions, talking with adults, polite disagreement and social etiquette.

Weekly Mission: Have a ten-minute conversation with an older person, prepare five questions and record three lessons.

Week 6
Critical thinking

Smart Thinking

Fact vs opinion, evidence vs assumption, misleading information and source awareness.

Weekly Mission: Investigate three online claims or headlines and document the source, evidence and conclusion.

Week 7
Digital intelligence

Be Smarter Than Your Screen

AI basics, digital footprint, privacy, plagiarism, responsible prompting and verification.

Weekly Mission: Ask AI about an interest, independently verify three claims and document what AI said, what was checked and the conclusion.

Week 8
Independence

Real-World Independence

Planning, priorities, responsibility, punctuality, asking for help and simple decision-making.

Weekly Mission: Take responsibility for one real household or family task for seven days and reflect on it.

Week 9
Collaboration

Teamwork Without Drama

Roles, shared responsibility, disagreement, listening and leadership versus bossing.

Weekly Mission: Complete a small activity with two or three people and document roles, one disagreement and its resolution.

Week 10
Creativity

Creative Thinking

Brainstorming, alternatives, what-if thinking and improving everyday things.

Weekly Mission: Choose one everyday thing, generate ten improvements and select one idea.

Week 11
Execution

From Idea to Creation

How ideas become models, experiments, research, digital creations or demonstrations.

Weekly Mission: Create the first draft, model or prototype of the chosen idea.

Week 12
Presentation

Present Like an Explorer

Structure, storytelling, visual communication and presenting learning with confidence.

Weekly Mission: Submit the Niyo Explorer Project Blueprint and a three-minute presentation.

Weeks 13–24 • Explorer Project

Turn curiosity into something you can show.

After the learning phase, students spend twelve weeks applying what they learned through a structured project journey with checkpoints, feedback and evidence.

Discover

Choose a topic, formulate an Explorer Question, research, observe and collect information.

Checkpoint Topic + question + research notes
2 Weeks 16–18

Decide what to create or demonstrate, sketch the idea, plan materials and define a simple outcome.

Checkpoint Project plan
3 Weeks 19–21

Create

Build the model, experiment, digital creation, research output, awareness project or another suitable project form.

Checkpoint Working project / draft
4 Weeks 22–23

Improve

Show the work to others, collect feedback, refine it and document what changed.

5 Week 24
